Radio Collaboration

This poem was Tim's brilliant and inspired ode to collaboration which he wrote (in a matter of minutes) and read during the plenary Café at the 2004 Pegasus Systems Thinking Conference in Boston. The theme of the conference was: Building Collaborations to Change Our World

My name is Tim Merry
You all be in your comfortable seating
While my heart is beating
'Cause I know this is a new way of
Meeting

Time to begin
To clear the confusion
Tune in
To the same station
Radio Collaboration
Playing in every nation
Since creation

Whenever the shift hit the fan
Human Beings have created a plan
In community
Taken the opportunity
To listen to the centre
The great mentor
The Elder
The Welder
Of fragmentation

Time to tune to the same station
Radio Collaboration
Turn a dial a while
And patterns become clear
Beyond the fears
Tears
Meaningless careers
The collective truth clears
The fog
Like highland breeze
Shows us our unease
As the future generations calling us
on

Like the wind in the sails of a ship
in a storm
What's the new form
Emerging
Converging
In the breath of the now
Kaboom Kapow
The nightmare is over
You've just found the four leaf clover
Ego move over
We all be thinking as one big brain

Becoming collectively sane again
This feels like a planetary crazy
Time
So let's realign
Cause this is our time to shine
Humans we bloomin'
Our souls boomin'
Cause we all be choosin'
To tune in
To Radio Collaboration
On every station since creation
Come on
Switch it on

When we work together
We can sail any weather
I ain't about being clever
Or tripping out on the never
Never
I'm just trying to stay awake
What's it gonna take
To survive this future coming on fast
And than know it as the past
I feel in my heart
I cannot do this alone
or even start
To build the arks
for the coming storms
But if we move as one
Get in the one consciousness
groove
Which is the sum
of all the parts
and all the hearts
Included and transcended
Souls mended
Then a new pattern is born
We cannot underrate
What is means to collaborate
Liberate
Co-liberate

To drop the fear
