A special community conversation for social innovators at whatever stage of their journey, joined by authors of the new book, and participatory hosts of all methods. Youth and young adult changemakers can attend for free with the code: UNDER30.
What lives at the heart of social innovation?
Social Innovation refers to new strategies, concepts, ideas, and organizations that meet social needs of all kinds – from working conditions and education to community development and health – and that extend and strengthen civil society.
But at the center of it all are people helping each other in ways that are generous, collaborative, and rich in possibility.
Social Innovation requires a mutual trust and belief that, together, across shared capabilities, new patterns of care and prosperity are possible for broader groups of people.
So, how can mutual trust and hopeful collective possibilities be cultivated?
In the book “The World Café: Social Innovation in Action”, participatory practitioners contributed stories of how The World Café opened a doorway for social innovation by nourishing a relational field through hosting principles and inclusive participation.
On August 25, we will gather to extend this wisdom to a wider network of social innovators and hosts of participatory practice. Authors of the book, in addition to other experienced participatory practitioners and social innovators of all experience levels, will reflect together on these essential questions:
- What is alive for you in your desire to support societal well-being?
- Where are the nearby opportunities to introduce participatory practice into your project or community?
- What might you need to take your next step, to bring people together to have a conversation or community experience that matters?
With the collaborative wisdom present in this community, without a doubt, beautiful possibilities of social innovation are within reach.
